Sleep is Good

Well, I'm sure by now you are all wondering what is going on in our house! We are all adjusting well to the new presence in our home. Xavier is a little turned around on his nights and days, but he is adjusting as well. He put in a really good night for me last night. He went to sleep at 11:30 or so and slept til 2:30. Then I put him back down at 3:15 or so, and he slept til about 6:30. So not so bad. The first few nights were a little rougher. Wednesday night I ended up just sleeping in the recliner with him. He sleeps well when he is on his tummy, but of course we all know that is a no, no:)

The other kids are adjusting to him as well. The new is starting to wear off a little. Don't get me wrong they still smother him with love, but it is not so constant now. And they are learning what the can and can't, or should I say, are and aren't allowed, to do. They really are a big help. Sydnie is really into everything that is being done. Tuesday night I told her I was going to feed Xavier and she came right over and just started to unhook my nursing bra so that I was able to feed him. I just let her help. On Thursday, she got everything ready for his bath and put it in the bathroom, so that it was all ready when I was ready to give him a bath. Madison is a big help in making sure that things around the house are done. She does what I ask her to do which is really nice. Dylan is learning, he doesn't like to help out as much, but usually does as he is told. We are working really hard on him to use an appropriate level of decibels when he is talking inside.

So as you see, we are all doing well. Michael is working again today. He will be home at a good time though. We are going to a family get together tonight. We have a family reunion tomorrow and are also going to take in the Nemaha County Fair parade tomorrow evening. It is hard to believe by the work week next week Xavier will already be 1 week old. My how time flies! I will try to post some pictures tomorrow if I get time.

Glad to be Home

Well I know many of you have been waiting patiently for these. Here are some pictures of Xavier and his siblings. Of course his siblings are all very excited for him to be here and be home. I am sure we will have plenty of help in the upcoming days. Thanks to all of you for the comments, words of encouragement and prayers. I will try to post more tomorrow.

Name

Ok we have a winner. The name is Xavier Patrick Boeckman. All is well. We will be going home tomorrow night if everything goes well. Will post pictures tomorrow hopefully. He's just as good looking as his father but more hair HaHa. The kids are so excited they wouldn't put him down. The only thing they were asking was when we could take him home. I think well have lots of help. They've already volunteered to get up with him in the middle of hte night. Well see how long that last when he's screaming to eat. They already said poopy diapers were out. I'm anxious to see how it goes since were out of practice. Wish us luck.

Tomorrow, the Big Day?

Well, today is just another hot day here in Kansas. We just arrived home from church a little bit ago. We have plans to get the yard mowed and then later, take the kids to the parade and fair in Marshall County.

Yesterday, we all went to work with Michael. He is really busy right now, and his help couldn't work, so that meant, we did. It was not bad. The house we were doing had the A/C on, so that helped. The kids were not a lot of help, but they didn't do too bad. Syd actually fell asleep after we had lunch.

Tomorrow I have my Dr apt with Dr Walsh at 7:30. Bright and Early. We will find out if he will do an induction tomorrow or Wednesday. It all depends on what the surgery schedule for tomorrow looks like. Since Onaga is a small hospital, they only have one anesthetist, and one surgery suite. So they do not like to plan inductions if the surgery staff and unit is busy. That way the anesthetist is not trying to do epidurals and surgery cases at the same time. Also, if for some unforeseen reason it would go into a C-section, you do not have to worry about the surgery suite already being in use. It is a lot different from a large hospital. So we will see in the morning. At this point, I do not have a preference as to which day it is.

So I will try to let all know what is going on. That is about all of the news for now.

Prayer Request

I have a request for prayers for a friend at this time. His name is Brian Fiedler. He was in a really bad accident last night. I do not have details at this time. What I know is he is in ICU, he was life starred from the scene. He rolled his truck coming home from work. They are not sure how long he was lying there, but after help arrived it took 11 minutes to regain a pulse. He is having a brain scan, or test of somekind this morning to check his brain activity. He and his wife have two small children. He has a great job so that his wife Mindy can stay home. They could really, really, use some prayers this morning.

Just wanted to Share New Photos

Madison and Michael going to the poker run on Sunday. She had a blast.

Dylan playing ball in the tournament. He played the whole game last night. They lost so they will play for 3rd tonight. Dylan had a awesome double play. He caught a fly in right field and then threw to 1st and got the out also.

37 weeks, 2 days and counting, no more than 8 left.

Baby Checkup Today

So here is the scoop. I am dilated 2-3 effaced about 50%. The head is lower. So if I do not go before next Monday, we will schedule induction next week. Possible Monday, but more likely for Wednesday. Mother Nature could take course before then, but if not we will shoot for that.

Dylan won his ball game last night. So they play tonight at 8:00. They will play again tomorrow night I believe, win or lose.

Madison had a blast on the poker run. She, I guess, was the hit of the show. I have pictures to post so I will try to get that done in the next day or two.

Also I would like to ask for prayers for a lady that lives in our town. She is fighting breast cancer and has two small children. Her blog is marshagrossnickle.blogspot.com. Please place her in your prayers.

Ballgames and Poker Run

Well, nothing too exciting to report today. Dylan has a ballgame in tournaments at 4:00 today. Sydnie, Dylan and I are going to go to the ballgame. It is in St. Benedict, so not too far to travel.

Michael and Madison went on a poker run this afternoon. The ALR chapter that Michael belongs to is putting it on, so he felt he needed to go. Madison is on her first long Harley ride. We bought her and Dylan a DOT rated helmet the other day, so they can ride with Michael now. I hope she knows, by the end her rump is going to be sore, and her neck from holding up that helmet. She was very excited. I got pictures of her before they left and one as they were leaving.

Other than that, just another day. I hope it stays a little cool. It wasn't too hot when I was outside hanging up laundry about an hour ago. It was a beautiful night last night.

No News Yet

I was supposed to have a Dr apt this morning, but due to a false alarm on Monday, I did not. Not much had changed on Monday. I know it is getting very close. I am noticing changes that indicate it will not be long. I am getting very anxious.
Michael must be anxious as well. He had me pack the Suburban this morning. That way nothing will get left behind. He has never had me do this before.
Dylan has ball tournaments Sunday at 4:00 at St. Benedict for anyone who is interested. This is the pee wee tournament. Michael and Madison are hoping to be on a poker run on Sunday also. Depends on what is happening.
I will let everyone know if there are any changes.

No Baby Yet

I know there are several of you wondering, so I thought I should let you know that there is no baby yet. And the good news is I am officially 36 weeks, so I can deliver in Onaga anytime now. I do have Dr apt on Thursday. I am thinking he may do a sono to check baby's size then, but we will have to wait and see.

I also wanted to thank all of you that came for the 4th. I hope you all had a great time. I know we all enjoyed it. We did forget to do the 3 legged race, but there is always next year.

Dr appt tody

Well, my Dr appt. today went well. He did not check me for fear he would "stir things up". I see him again next Thursday, if not before. So basically there are no changes, just listened to the baby, and it sounded good.

Sydnie seems to finally be doing better. Her stool culture did come back positive for Cryptosporidim, which is a bacteria/parasite that is untreatable:( You just have to let it wear itself out. Finally, I think we have done that. It is usually gotten from swimming pools this time of year. But we haven't been to any pools. Nor have we even been to many public places. So who knows where she got it, my guess might be a baseball game. I am a germ freak, so even in public toilets, my kids are not allowed to touch anything. And we scrub 'til our hands are almost raw when we are done. So who knows, I am just glad she is getting better. And with it being highly contagious, I am glad no one else got it.

Michael's results from his MRI are also back. He does have a torn ligament. He will see Dr McCoy sometime probably next week to see if it will heal on its own or if it will need repaired. Hopefully if it does need repaired, it can wait til winter when it slows down.

That's is about all the news for today. It is a beautiful day out. We are all just getting ready for tomorrow. The kids are being a great help. That always makes things nice.

Oh, and by the way, if you have any more names, we are still looking:)

Hot and Humid

Well, today is quite hot and humid. I got up this morning at 5 o'clock when Michael got up. I can get a lot done when I do that. Did some laundry and swept the kitchen floor. Could have vacuumed, but I didn't think I wanted to wake the kids quite that early.

Around 7 I went out and started mowing the lawn. Only on the rider of course. Nothing too strenuous. It started raining around 9 or so, so the kids and I decided it was a good time to run to Seneca to the grocery store. We were completely out of milk, Syd had been wanting bananas and they would be good for her, so that is what we did. It didn't take us long to get groceries. The kids were extremely good and a lot of help. I rewarded them by taking them to McDonald's for lunch. Of course, Madison and I had Subway.

After lunch I finished mowing the yard. Most of it is done. Michael will have to finish the hills and trimming when he gets home. Boy did I notice the heat and humidity while mowing. It will probably spark storms later on this evening. But it is supposed to be really nice for the 4th. Just what I was hoping for. It is only supposed to be about 80 degrees. That will be nice.

Syd seems to be feeling better today. She still is having trouble with her bowels. I got a stool sample in to the lab for testing today, so hopefully that will help. She is eating a little bit better today. And, knock on wood, no one else has gotten it.

I go in to see Dr Walsh tomorrow morning at 8:00. So we will find out then what if any changes have occurred. If I just make it to Sunday I can deliver at Onaga. I am sure that won't be a problem. Michael on the other hand is not as sure. He is just banking on me delivering tomorrow night late. I guess we will see.

Also, Michael had an MRI of his ankle yesterday. He sprained it really bad a few months back chasing cows, and it is not healing. So we should find out tomorrow the results of his MRI. I pray that it is normal. If he tore a ligament or something, it would require surgery to fix. I am not sure when I could make him find time for that. At least not until Winter. So we will just hope all is good.

For now, I plan to see everyone on Friday. I am very excited about it. We plan to have a great time. And cool weather would be just great.
