School days, Football, And Oh Yeah, the First Bowl of Cereal

This was Syd one night at the supper table after a long hard day at school. I can't believe she was able to sleep hanging on to the chair like that.

Xavier isn't loved by his big sister at all, can you tell. She is always wanting to hold him.

Xavier is getting to eat cereal now at bedtime. Only a few teaspoons. Here is the first night that we gave it to him. He loves it. And oh yeah, he slept all night last night for the first time. From 10:00 til 7:00. Way to go Xavier. Only problem is I have to get up and pump in the middle of the night.

Good one Dylan! That is him tackling the opponent to the the ground.

Dylan in position waiting to see if the ball is coming to his side of the field.

Thought you all might enjoy some more pictures. Seems like I can never get enough of them on here before someone is asking for more.

Kiss and Tell

Well, where do I start. When Syd got off the bus today, before she even made it up to me from the end of the drive, she was yelling at me "Mommy, I kissed Presly." YOU DID WHAT? So I am asking her about it and not only did she kiss Presly, she kissed him lots. And then she proceeds to tell me, "I kissed Brock too!" WHAT? So I told her she should not do that and that she was going to get yucky sick germs if she did not quit kissing boys. You know this day and age she could probably be charged with sexual harassment. And another thing, Presly is a distant cousin. Not that kissing in preschool means you will end up married, but YUCK. I don't know what her daddy is going to say, (or do)! Brock and Presly you better watch out!

Xavier seems to be doing okay today. He is running a low grade fever, but nothing unexpected after immunizations. He didn't sleep quite as good last night as usual, but still not a bad night.

Madison was not feeling well yesterday. She was really tired yesterday morning which I didn't think much of. When she got home she was still acting really tired. She did her homework and then got her book and started to read. At supper time she just didn't look like she felt well. She had been complaining that she had a headache all day. She was running a low grade fever also. She ate some of her supper and then read for a while and went to bed. This morning she got up acting like a new girl. She said she was feeling fine. Oh what a good night of sleep can do.

Brian's funeral is tomorrow morning. Please pray that Michael has a safe trip down to Rossville. He will be on the bike solo. I will be going with the kids. Since the patriot guard is riding, they will be riding solo. That is why I am going separately. Also pray for peace in Brian's family that they find comfort in knowing he is now longer suffering.

Two Month Check up

Xavier had his two month check up today. He is right on track for his age. He weighed 13#7oz., and was 23 3/4" long. He does have a small head, which is nothing to worry about. He had to get 3 shots:( He has been sleeping since we got home, with the exception of about 10 minutes in which he cried. I tried to feed him, but he wasn't interested. So i gave the poor little guy some more Motrin. Other than that not much to report.

Poker Run for Brian

Yesterday we all went on the poker run for Brian Fiedler. Michael and I rode the bike and Grandpa took the kids in the suburban. It was a lot of fun. I was going to get a sitter, but decided it would be better to take the kids. I also thought it may look a little funny with the breast pump strapped to the bike. There was around 150 bikes in the ride. I haven't heard a total on the dollar amount made, but the way the auction was going I'm sure it had to be close to $20,000. Brian's funeral is on Wednesday in St. Mary's. You can see his obituary at cjonline.com, or piperfuneralhome.com.

Today we just took it easy. We did some cleaning and hung out. Dylan played football at 1:00. They lost again, but their game is improving, so that is really what matters.

School pictures are tomorrow. And parent teacher conferences are this week also. So we will learn how the kids are doing in school.

Prayers for the Fiedlers

Many of you have ask how our friend Brian is recovering after his auto accident. And at this time we are asking for more prayers for him, his wife Mindy and their two children, along with all of Brians family. Mindy had to make the hardest decision in her life about 2 weeks ago or so to honor Brians wishes not to be kept alive on machines. He was moved into a care home at that time and hospice was called in. He has taken his time in passing, I am guessing to give everyone plenty of time to say goodbye. Sadly he passed away last night. We are going to be riding in a poker run on Saturday that is to benefit his wife and children. They are also having a dinner and live auction afterwards. Or if you just happen to be passing through Rossville on Saturday and need a good cup of Joe, stop in at Grounded Coffee house. All proceeds form their sales on Saturday are going to benefit the Fiedlers also.

Please keep Mindy in your prayers that she is at peace and finds comfort knowing she honored Brians wishes. Pray for Brian that he is peaceful in his final resting place. And for the kids, TJ and Jaycee, that they can understand life, find their new normal, and find peace and comfort from surrounding family.

Last BUT Not Least, Xavier

These pictures were taken on Aug 22. So Xavier was one month old in the pictures.

These were just taken on the 9th of Sept. So Xavier was 7 weeks old in the pictures. And yes he is laughing not crying. He laughs, but not out loud yet. He is however talking and cooing alot. And yes as you see quite well in these pictures, he has a redish tint to his hair. Very prominent in there photos.

More Vacation Pics

These are pictures from the Amazing Pizza Machine. The kids and Michael are in the wild thing on the first picture. One of those rides that spins around, and around.

These pictures are on the frogger. It went up and down then up and down. It is a lot like those rides like at Worlds of Fun that take you up and you free fall down, only this one keeps going up and down.
This is Syd driving on of the virtual nascars.

Pictures, Pictures, Pictures

One day late, and more than a few dollars short. Here are the pictures I promised you yesterday. Better late then never. All of these pictures were taken at the zoo in Omaha. As you can see we went to one of the 3D movies. The glasses were huge. Madison kept getting scared by the fish and sharks. Syd watched most of the movie without the glasses. Dylan and Michael seemed to enjoy it. And me, well, Xavier and I seemed to sleep through most of the movie.

Rain, Rain Go Away

We were happy to see the rain stop today. It was cloudy this morning, but sunny ( alittle) this afternoon. I really need to get in the grove of updating this blog at least once a week. I apologize to all of you who have been looking for the last month, wow, where did it go.

Dylan is playing full tackle football this fall. They had their first game last Sunday. They need a little practice, we will see how they do tomorrow. I have picture to post of last weeks game and will try to get to that tomorrow.

Madison, Dylan, and Syd are loving school. I received that dreaded phone call on the first day of school from Syd's teacher. I just knew she had already mouthed off, or shown her true colors. Don't get me wrong, I love her to death, but she is a 4 year old with attitude. BUT, it was good news, her teacher thought she may learn a little more advanced things in the morning class than the afternoon class, so she wanted to change her to mornings. It has been a good move for Sydnie. The other day, she was talking about our eyes, and whose were what color and whose matched whose. And in the midst of her conversation she asked about her big sissy Mariah. What color of eyes she has. I told her I wish I knew. I had to explain to her that we never saw her eye color before she passed. And then I told her I bet they were blue. I just have a feeling that if she were here today she would be a beautiful dark haired, blue eyed little girl. Little, tween more like it. I really hate to have to answer those questions when the kids ask, the ones I don't have a concrete answer for.

Xavier is growing like a weed. He found his voice a couple of weeks ago. All the kids were in school and he was in his swing. I was sitting on the floor by him working on business, and all of a sudden it was like he was having a conversation with someone. He had found his voice. Since then he does lots of cooing. He is a very happy baby. He only really cries when hungry or if he has a dirty diaper. He has been sleeping from 10:00 to about 4:00 as a general rule. I do have some pictures to post of him also.

We took a small vacation on Labor Day weekend to Omaha. We had a good time. Just relaxing. Took in the zoo, dinosaurs at the children's museum, and the Amazing Pizza Machine (The Cadillac of Chucky Cheese). I will post pictures also later.

So I hope that catches everyone up to speed. A friend of ours could really use your help with your prayers. He was in a serious accident on July 15, and is not recovering from a brain injury, so his wife is trying to uphold his wishes, and the life support is being turned off. You can visit them at friendsofbrianf.com. We are praying for peace and comfort for you Mindy.

It has been a very busy time of year for us. I will try to do better in getting a post out a little sooner. Now, Michael has made dinner and I better go eat.
